The Polish Space Industry Association became the patron of the third edition of the NASA Space Apps Challenge Gdańsk 2018, taking place on October 20-21 in the halls of the Gdańsk Science and Technology Park.
This event is initiated by the United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and consists of a 48-hour, interdisciplinary marathon of ideas (hackathon). Participation in the event can be taken not only by engineers, programmers, technicians, constructors or robots, but also by biologists, students of various faculties, or just all who are fascinated by the cosmos and our planet. The participants’ task will be to face one of the challenges prepared by scientists from NASA. Developed conceptual solutions, programs, applications or data visualizations can be used in space exploration. Participants’ projects can be useful in conducting scientific research, popularizing science, improving the quality of life on earth and the work of public administration services. Two winning projects from Gdańsk will compete in an international competition and will have the chance to win prizes funded by NASA.
